Benefits of Using the Defense Logistics Agency

SupplyCore Reawarded North Central Region
The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) has awarded SupplyCore a one-year extension to its North Central contract. Under this Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Prime Vendor contract, SupplyCore provides MRO supplies and related services to the U.S. military and federal civilian agencies in the North Central region of the United States.
The North Central Prime Vendor contract (SPM500-04-D-BP10) currently supports U.S. activities in 12 states, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. It is valued at an estimated $32 million.
SupplyCore was originally awarded the North Central Region in 1998 and was awarded the region, again, as the incumbent in 2004, out of six companies that competed for the contract. The two-year contract included an option provision for an additional eight years. This is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. Date of performance completion is July 28, 2009.
As we near the Government’s Fiscal Year End, SupplyCore has geared up to assist all current and new customers with their remaining orders for 2008.
SupplyCore’s customer services representatives will be working extended hours and our offices will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week starting September 15th through September 30th. SupplyCore representatives are currently collecting wish lists from our customers to source during year end. If you haven’t already sent in your wish list, feel free to contact your regional sales representative who will be able to assist with any orders and/or answer any questions you may have.
“We understand that the year-end obligation of funds is just around the corner and this creates quite a rush from our customers to place their orders so they can procure as many goods and services as possible to support their location,” stated Lori Glawe, Vice President of Operations at SupplyCore. “SupplyCore is committed to making it easier and more convenient than ever to commit your dollars.”

Did You Know...?
...that in 1999, SupplyCore was awarded a five-year, $36 million per year Prime Vendor contract for maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) supplies to cover all US military bases in Japan, including Okinawa?
Previous to the Prime Vendor program, overseas military bases would have to store an average of six months' inventory of MRO supplies, since receiving an item might take anywhere from three to eighteen months. SupplyCore has been able to reduce that stock to about one month's worth of supplies.
In 2005, SupplyCore was re-awarded an expanded Pacific Region MRO Prime Vendor contract which included Japan, Okinawa, Singapore and Diego Garcia. SupplyCore has also acted both as Prime Vendor and essentially as project manager for a solar energy roof transformation project on Camp Shields, Okinawa. Installation was completed 24 hours prior to the arrival of a super-typhoon that directly hit Okinawa.  The solar roof panels survived the storm intact and are performing at a very high efficiency level converting solar energy to electrical energy.

Geri West and John Delia Receive
the Bronze Arrow
Congratulations to John Delia, this quarter’s winner of the Bronze Arrow Award, and Geri West, last quarter's winner.
John readily accepts difficult challenges. Specifically, John has supported a recent major systems redesign with analysis and made good suggestions on what and how to measure. He has also spent countless hours reconciling SCME’s year end to SupplyCore’s year end.
John is also quick to resolve issues and take on new projects.
Geri has brought the Accounts Receivable backlog down significantly. Geri has excellent attention to detail and excellent follow up. She has diligently pursued collection of cash and resolution of BSM orders and invoice errors.
Geri works with SupplyCore associates and DSCP very effectively. Accurate and timely collection of our invoices means the customer is properly billed by DSCP, an important factor in customer relations.
It is their commitment and professionalism that exemplifies the best of SupplyCore. For their achievements, Geri and John will receive a monetary award, a Bronze Arrow pin and their names will be added to a plaque located at the SupplyCore Corporate office in Rockford, Illinois. Congratulations!
